Scorpio at work

Strong Scorpios have such sterling qualities that they can go far professionally, and their wills can propel them up the ladder of success. But then so can their jealousy. The Scorpio’s envy of another person’s success can be just the spur to get him or her moving. Of course, if the Scorpio uses this in a negative way he or she can decide to destroy that person’s success, instead of emulating it. This is the Scorpio snake, who sneaks and sniffs about, storing up the smut and searching out the secrets, then sits in silence, sensing a suitable season to start the siege.

A Scorpio isn’t always ambitious for status, but he or she will want to wield a certain amount of power. In fact, Scorpios really need power and, if they can, they will manipulate behind the scenes, so even a Scorpio secretary will be much stronger than you might expect. Sometimes, this can be in a positive way, for the good of the company or her boss, but a negative Scorpio will be underhand.

This is a very capable sign, and most of the Scorpios I know who have made it to the top of their trees have done so through tons of talent and pounds of potential and have worked resolutely against the odds. They have been able to promote their own positions and blow their own bugles in such a way that they’ve just bounded to the top. However, because most Scorpios don’t particularly like the limelight, they will prefer to operate in the wings, working behind the scenes.

Professions that often attract Scorpios include police work, being private detectives, spies or even gangsters. There is often something a little shady about Scorpios a sense of the underworld, of secret hideaways and ganglands which I find fascinating! Some Scorpios are sensational at snooping which, of course, has to be done secretly, and there’s nothing Scorpios like better than operating under cover. So, professions in which there is a certain amount of secrecy involved will fascinate them, especially if they can lead a double life as a result.

Not surprisingly, with their pulverising powers of penetration, Scorpios make perfect psychologists and psychiatrists. Some of them will even be hypnotists! Pluto is said to govern X-rays, so radiography can appeal too. The Plutonic fascination with death can mean that some Scorpios will become undertakers or be associated with death in some other way, such as pathology work or grave-digging! Scorpios with a strong Mars in their charts can choose a profession in the armed forces and let’s not forget that this sign rules big business and corporations, so you’ll find a lot of Scorpios wheeling and dealing away at the tops of large organisations.

I know some Scorpios who, if they are open in their work, can be secretive in other ways professionally. For example, they can create some intrigue in their lives by canoodling with their colleagues. Sometimes this will be just another way for the Scorpio to achieve more power, and inject some excitement into his or her life. Sometimes it can be real love.
