Capricorn chaps have got it all worked out in advance. Just as their stern ruler, Saturn, is surrounded by circles, so Capricorns are limited by their very own rings. They know exactly what they can do, and will do it well. No more and no less. Whereas some signs can go mad, and try to take over the world, these men know their limitations, and abide by them. Sometimes this will ensure stupendous success; but at other times it can mean the Capricorn is hidebound by his own hang ups, and won’t step out of line or take a risk, strangled by his own rules and regulations.

Money and these men seem to go together, like cheese and chutney, or curry and chips. Just to show you how accurate astrology can be, the multi-millionaire Howard Hughes was a Capricorn.

Because this is a conservative, careful sign, Capricorn men have an aura of respectability, and many of them will become pillars of society. They will worry about the opinions of other people, and try to toe the line in everything they do. But don’t think that they’re one long yawn, because nothing could be further from the truth. When these fellows let their hair down, it’ll take you a week to recover!

Now. fathers are very important for all Capricorns, and the Capricorn guy will feel he has the shadow of his dad hovering over him all the time like a ghost that won’t go away. Even if he didn’t get on with him, he’ll be beset by guilt and wracked with worries that he hasn’t done his duty to his dad whether by following in his footsteps, or carrying out his laws to the letter. If the guilt gets too ingrained he’ll be pulverised by a lack of self-confidence. But if he re-routes this sense of responsibility into the correct channels, he’ll go from strength to strength, and the sky will be the limit. He could become a pilot, although most Capricorns prefer to keep their feet on terra firma.

As a result of these feelings about his father, he won’t be the most dynamic of dads, and there may be a hint of harshness about him. He’ll find it difficult to figure out what makes his tiny terrors tick, because he was never really a kid himself even when he was knee-high to a grasshopper he was a tiny adult. When he’s feeling witty, he’ll have his offspring doubled up with mirth, and at other times he can be wonderfully wise. But the minute his kiddie’s satchel swings over the step, he’ll become like Rumpelstiltskin always putting his foot down. In fact, he can be a real old ogre when it comes to his kids’ homework, standing over them until they’ve done it. But when the patter of tiny feet is heard second time around, and the Capricorn is a grandfather, he’ll be a riot. By now, he may say he’s sixty, but he’ll behave like a sixteen-year-old, given half the chance!

The Capricorn man, if he’s going places, can become a workaholic, sacrificing the needs of family and friends to his files, facts and figures. ‘Not now, Norah, I’m working’ can become the constant Capricorn cry, as he clicks away at his computer or calculator into the small hours. He’s got to learn to let go, and show his family that he does care about them, before he’s left with just his briefcase to go to bed with!

Both the men and the women of this sign can be appealing or austere, suave and sophisticated, or scruffy and smelly. Some of them look like walking dustbins. These men sometimes baulk at baths too, and think that if they get caught in a cloudburst, that’s their wash for another week! But before you give the elbow to your Capricorn chap, or grab a clothes peg for your nose, not all Capricorns are like this! Some are quite clean and tidy, and exude the sweet smell of success, not an awful aroma at all.

Whether clean or not, Capricorn men are usually wiry; their ruler, Saturn, makes most of them dark. They tend to be short, but what they lack in inches they more than make up for in personality. When he’s young, this guy often looks older than he really is, and a fifteen-year-old will look twice his age. But once he reaches thirty, that’s the way he’ll stay.
