Born January 04
A real problem solver this one. And a terrific cook. What better than to have a misery solved by January 4 and then be stuffed with a Capricometto of delicious home invented ice cream. These people are great with children and teenagers, everybody really. It’s a genuine capacity for good living. Lovely January 4 is never so pushed for time that a telephone call can’t be returned or a thank you letter written. They understand that time is the great luxury and that it expands or contracts according to your temperament and not the dock. For this reason, people born today seem to get more work done in offices or at home than other days. Maybe it’s because they value time so much they don’t waste it, knowing that to savour a moment is better than to let it drain through fingers into the sand. Make no mistake. Gentle they may be, but not gullible. Like most people born now, they can spot ill intentions a mile off, and aren’t above dealing a crushing blow, mentally or physically. Natural happiness comes to them with a life spent in a crowd. They like big families, lots of friends and neighbours, cats and dogs. (They have a passion for thoroughbred cats at the Siamese end of the gene pool.) The best kind of work for this person is dealing with people. Teaching is ideal and since they excel at sport, and can make it fun for children of all ages, this is another talent to throw into the pot. Sex is usually an easy come, easy go affair. Past lovers always remain friends and a January 4 wedding will be crammed with old admirers who genuinely wish well, but in secret regret this person is not marrying them. It’s rare that they fall hopelessly in love, but when they do and the love is thwarted, this broken heart doesn’t easily mend.
Body
Raspberry Cream Capricornetto. Take 400g raspberries, sieved icing sugar, 2 eggs separated, 125ml double cream, lightly whipped. Sieve raspberries (frozen will also do) or put into blender. Sweeten to taste with icing, sugar, beat egg yolks and 25g icing sugar until thick and creamy. Whisk egg whites until they form stiff peaks, then gradually beat in 50g icing sugar, a teaspoon at a time. Gradually whisk egg yolk mixture into this, then fold in raspberry puree and cream. Turn into container, almost freeze, remove and beat smooth, then freeze again for at least 4 hours. Serve in cones.
Mind
In Tarot, the 4th card in the Major Arcana is The Emperor, bringing wisdom, farsight, emotional steadiness and generosity towards others. There is also impatience with those who don’t follow advice and even a bullying streakette.
