Getting ahead in a difficult profession requires faith in yourself. You must be able to sustain staggering blows and unfair reversals. To some will come fame. To many, recognition and, of course, money. Some use their drive away from the work place. They enjoy the patriarchal or matriarchal role, founding dynasties, looking after relatives and friends. Theirs is usually the house where everybody meets to discuss a mutual interest or hobby fired by November 9’s enthusiasm. Whether it be trainspotting, sport, history, music or politics, people born on this day and their families will never be isolated and their long life is mentally vigorous, packed with new thoughts and experiences until the day they choose to retire to heaven.

Hayfever-type allergies may have many causes, in particular high pollution levels in the air. Cigarette smoke provokes allergic reactions in some people, as does pollen and house mites which live in our beds, carpets, soft furnishings and soft toys. Dust control can reduce the number of house dust mites but won’t get rid of them completely. It may help to replace bedroom carpet with vinyl flooring, keep pets out and damp-dust once a week. Wash bed linen at 60 C once a week, and put soft toys in the freezer once a fortnight -dust mites can’t survive extremes of temperature.
