Aries at work

Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s an Arian at work. Gosh, these Martians can be real balls of tire once they get going. They whiz around, exuding energy from every pore, until you feel exhausted just watching them. Do they ever slow down? There’s no getting away from it, Arians need to be top dog. Whether they’re little iambs in a fabulous flock, head of their department, or just head of the tea trolley, they have to be able to give the orders somewhere along the line. Arians need to be leaders, so it’s very important that a woolly worker should leap up the ladder of success as quickly as possible. Otherwise there will be many flare-ups along the way, as the Arian attempts to be assertive over the powers that be. There’s an old saying that you have to speculate to accumulate, and a positive Arian will agree wholeheartedly. Rams make great bosses, because they crave challenge, are inspired innovators, and are always ready and willing to have a go at something new.

The other side of the coin is that Arians want everything to happen now, and won’t hang around and let the grass grow under their feet. They will join the firm as a junior in January, and expect to be manager by March! (And they’ll think that’s slow-going!) Like children, they just can’t wait and will seethe with impatience. (And then throw a tantrum!) Remember Aesop’s Fable about the tortoise and the hare? Well, if Taurus is the tortoise, guess who’s the one with the floppy ears With their love of competition, Rams want to beat everyone to the winning-post, but are sometimes too clever by half. (If only they could slow down and hold their horses or horns they’d stun everyone into silence with their dynamic, daring dreams and vivacious vitality. Patience. Aries!) A positive Arian will excel in almost anything he or she puts a hoof to. work-wise, especially if it’s an active occupation. Being ruled by Mars, Arians make smashing soldiers. are amazing at adventure, and stunning at sports or something similar. Their brawny biceps also mean they excel at jobs requiring mighty muscles, such as being a village blacksmith or a welder.

Some Arians don’t have much sticking power when it comes to boring work. They’re geniuses at coming up with new ideas, organising everyone to execute them and taking the credit. But they’re not so keen on seeing something through to the end. They’d rather rush off to the next great idea and leave the donkey work to someone else. But don’t think they’re all flash and fire at work. Many Martians will bum the candle at both ends, and in the middle, when they’re working on something they believe in. They can be incredibly industrious when they want. Arians will gladly put their backs into their jobs, their noses to the grindstone, and their whole hearts and souls into their work. Rams don’t take kindly to being pinned to a desk all day, because they’re too restless. Arians who like to get out and about enjoy jobs like journalism, when they can be roving reporters in Rotherham one day, and Russia the next. In fact, the worst way to knock the stuffing out of Rams is to ignore them. Because they belong to the Fire element, they have well-developed egos and like their achievements to be applauded. But let’s face it, they’re never ignored for long. You can’t keep a good Ram down!
